I need help...I have a lvl 63 Mage...when I walk into a Warlock I always end up running away (being feared) and thrown with a bunch of curses and deceases etc etc (don't know why they have so many :( ) and I end up dead soon after...

Now, I want to know how I can kill a Warlock before they kill me and how can I get rid of all the spell I get klapped with? :p

I killed a Warlock about a week ago, but still ended up dead cause of all the spells...I mean...how's that for fairness :(

play some BG and get the trinket. If you get feared trinket out, don't get too close or he'll HoT or iHoT you. Since you're a caster if he has felpup out run away, he might know how to use it and those things destroy casters. If he has succy out out kill it first, if voidwalker ignore it, it does too little damage to worry about. Nuke the hell out of him, most locks don't have too much burst damage (unless they are destro) and you should be able to burn him down before the dots take you.
Don't mages have a silence or something, cast that if you do.
As soon as you kill him eat so you don't die from dots.

If you can break fear or have some fear resistance gear a lock loses his edge big time. I know this from getting owned when a i cast fear and see the dreaded immune/resisted. Happens more and more these days :P

CounterSpell is your friend. Removing access to Shadow for that few seconds can mean survival.
If you can CS, Polymorph you can set yourself up for a POM Pyro.

1. Remove the curses, you are a mage

2. Trinket/Ice block out of fear (time iceblock so that the warlock waste atleast one full cast)

3. Counterspell as often as possible, locking out a dmg tree of the warlock for 10 seconds can be painfull

4. Blink and run away, if all else fails. Warlocks are just one more class that eat mages for breakfast...

BG...what's BG? :p

Sucks...I've been able to kill warriors, paladins, priests (easy targets :p) and the occasional druid :p...but Warlocks...*sigh*

BG = Battlegrounds, what he means is, build up enough honor to get the PVP trinket by doing battlegrounds. Basically as a mage if you see a lock with a felhound of felguard you're in beeg trouble.

Blizzard plays only locks they cant be beaten.

It's true that locks were once OP but that is not the case at all anymore. We have been nerferd big time. Go to any lock forum and you'll see people whining and complaining about it.
Not that I mind too much though, gets rid of all the flavour of the month warlocks.
But if this carries on I'm gonna start getting bleak.

Go to any class forum and you'll see whining and complaining. I just skip the Official Class Forums all together.

Locks are not OP but they're most likely the single strongest class in the game.

well hunters, druids and pallys seem very OP for me (being 2 hitted at lvl 70 by a boomkin is not fun). But i guess it comes down to if you can play your class well it's going to seem OP to the people you beat.

- with my lock (especially earlier lvls) I considered warriors free kills and now that I'm playing one I always ran when I saw a lock but the other day I was forced to fight one (he ganked me) and I destroyed him. All because I had worked out an attack plan for if I ever did have to fight a lock.
Remember what works against one class might not work against another.

Rogue > Lock no contest

Before level 69, I would aggree...
At 70 a well played warlock should not be a walk over like the other cloth chars. Even cloak of shadows will only help you up to a point.
Felguard, deathcoil, fear, dot's, Curse of weakness, they have all the tools to take even Rogues down with ease.

My warrior have a hard time killing them at 70, 1v1 it is a damn hard fight. Even though as a Arms spec warrior I can be immune to fear effects for quite some time. BM hunter also have a small edge but again a well played warlock should win this aswell.

not if he is sl/sl (siphon life/soul link) spec. then the lock has a fighting chance at least. But in most cases yes, rogues are death on legs for locks.
Damn stun lock to hell :P

I'm respect, Combat for lvl'ng till 70 - Combat = Lock is stunned till death (If I'm not caught in Stealth) Before I played Sub spec. I could 1 hit any clothy of my lvl with a Shadow step + Crit Ambush

A warlock with 300 odd resilliance will need to be stun locked down for over a minute to get down, in that time if he have a sacubus out you will be charmed, a felguard will eat a huge chunk out of your life etc.
With people getting immune to fear at level 70 stun lock in pvp have been nefed quite a bit!
Most warlocks in PVP have 10-13k HP at level 70, atleast most of those I have fought...

Pre 69 the one who gets the first jump usually wins. At 70 you need to know what to do.

But doing my pvp mostly as a warrior/hunter/mage I have a slight different perspective. Hunter and mage is destroyed by rogues, if they get the jump and my cooldowns are down.
As warrior it is pretty much like that picture showed earlier, they can get the jump and I can go make some coffee and when I come back a minute later my rage bar is full and i can MS-Heroic-Execute the poor rogue to death, with hardly 10% life loss.

I'm not 70 yet :o

Talking about my experiance so far only lvl 66 now :p
I know lvl 70 is a different ball game. I saw a Warrior with close to 18k HP

Now that is i huge jump from the 10k odd they have at lvl 65 - 69

It is indeed. I have 15.5k HP unbuffed while tank specked, and in my tank gear. 20-21k raid buffed
Some 14k in my PVP gear, only some arena S1 and S2 gear though.

hehe dont be scared of the prot warrior, hes specced to take dmg not dish it out:)
