Same difference.

I meant that solely using footage of the game (in whatever form) to claim that KZ2 is the next messianic PS3 game is just pathetic.

:rolleyes: why is it so hard for you to fathom that a game on a ps3 could be next best thing ,and to describe something you havent even seen as pathetic ...well that is actually pathetic

The best indicator of future performance is past performance. Nothing on the PS3 has lived up to its collective hype (Lair, Haze, RFoM etc. etc.) so until proven wrong, we'll keep the sceptic's position.

That's a scripted event, so meh, there have been bigger and better. Resistance is more interesting, at least it's a 20 story active combatant, or Halo 3's AI scarabs.

Frankly I'm not worried about my expectation, I know the droids are going to give it 10/10 before the disc is in the tray. But be prepared to temper your own expectations.

You have not seen the game either. You have of course seen footage of the game and have read the opinions of a few folks with access to an (incomplete) beta version of the game. You have not played the game, nor has a collective opinion been formed by the end-users.

As enigma said, hype is no indication of future success when there has been little success in the past.

Rather lay off the hilltop shouting about the supposed greatness of KZ2 until you've played it or some sort of general consensus has been formed.

The droids are not known for their technical prowess. Don't bother referring to the difference in scripted events versus real time without a long layman explanation (which they won't bother reading anyway :p )

Well, look at it. Its visually incredible. And since its not done by a japanese god (Hideo Kojima), i doubt it'll be as good :rolleyes: Naturally, every ps3 mag will give it 11.9/10. And yes Xbox mags do the same with their flagship titles. So we wait, for the more independant reviewers to give it a score

Ok doobi here's the bet if your reading :) If say Killzone 2 can get a rating of between 8.5 - 10 on Metacritic or five sites which we can both agree are not biased and sell between 230000 - 300000 unit's in it's first full week. If I loss I have to defend the xbox with all I have the following fbf of your choice but if I win you have to defend the PS3 with all you have the following fbf of my choice what do you say you up for it ???

I would gladly have taken that sales figures bet with you on Resistance, but KZ is so oversold I'm going to have to agree with pitka. There are no "unbiased sites" when it comes to hype. But I like the idea, we'll save it for another dispute, say maybe worldwide December console sales? I say 360 takes it 3:2 or more ;) ...

That's a given 3:2 but we save this bet for something that could easily go either way it will be more fun that way :D You really sure it's only first week sales hey :)

With the current hype for this game and the 20 000 000 install base of the ps3
at the end of the year, it would be considered a big flop if it did only 300000
units worldwide in its first week. Remember his is one of the big games "hype" from sony. Even R2 will do more than 300 000 worldwide first week, as it did 200 000 if america and will get more than 100 000 in europe on launch.

Nope I would have just won if I made the same bet on R2 also you have to consider that this is xmas season so it will sell fairly well.

Killzone 2 is being sold in the off season for games only a very few have big numbers during the beginning and middle of the year for there first week so I think it's a fair bet but we'll see :D
