So Hamilton's 109 was greater than Alonso's 109?![]()
If the points are tied, the driver with the most 1st places is ranked higher. I'm not sure who had more 1st places, but I suspect it was Hamilton. So Hamilton's 109 points are better than Alonso's 109 points.

So Hamilton's 109 was greater than Alonso's 109?
2nd, 3rd doesn't matter really because neither was champion in that year. Hamilton was first on the long list of losers.
Naah, I don't see second place in the drivers championship in your first year a loss
Hey - y'know what? Alonso didn't do that... neither did Schumi or Senna!![]()
Are you being serious dude, please go read up on the cars they start with.
You know how hamilton struggled at first with a mclaren that could not get 8th place this season? That is the kind of car they drove in the beginning. They did not have luxury of entering F1 in one of the best cars on the track. Interestingly enough even when shummi and senna had inferior cars they could win, hamilton cannot drive an inferior car very well even in the wet. He needs a car underneath him, senna and shummi could do amazing things in poor cars.
So trying to show that hamilton is better than senna or shummi when he started off with the best is a bit much, let's wait and see in a few years if hamilton is anything like the 2 of them. Most f1 legends would have loved to have started in the best car, if shummi and senna started off in championship winning cars you think senna would have only have 3 to his name and shummi 7? Hell no.
Schumi and Senna suck dude, Hammi is the real thing![]()
SourceMcLaren are refusing to directly confirm that Kimi Raikkonen is set to return next year, but team members are dropping lots of hints.
With it all but certain that Fernando Alonso is moving to Ferrari next year, it is believed that Raikkonen's lawyers are in the final stages of negotiating a multi-million Euro exit from his contract so that he can become Lewis Hamilton's next team-mate.
Team chiefs Martin Whitmarsh and Norbert Haug did not specifically mention the possibility in Singapore, but it was clear what they were talking about. "McLaren has never had the philosophy of specifying a number one," Whitmarsh said. "We want to have the best available drivers in our cars.
"
However, in 2007 when Hamilton was pitted alongside Fernando Alonso, the team's policy of employing strong drivers - with absolute equality - resulted in tension.
It is also a concern that, as Hamilton and Alonso fought two years ago, they both narrowly lost the world championship - ironically to Raikkonen. "Managing drivers is what it is all about and we are capable of doing that," said Haug.
Ferrari have came out and said they are to take a decision with Kimi or Alonso, and they should reveal the number 2 driver for next year soon.
