Kio Rio door latch/actuator

Looking for a door latch/actuator (pic below) for a 2013 Kia Rio..

Agents can order it in for 3.7k (madness but, not surprised).. tried Korean Car parts and SA korean parts in Cape Town with no luck..

I don't want to do a scrapyard part either, as this is one is faulty because if wear, and a scrapyard one is just going to be close to having the same issue anyway and I am back at square one..

Any places I have missed..?

My first 2 cars combined cost less than that!!! They both came with 4 door latches
 
Good luck with that. I couldn't find them anywhere other than Kia. The only place you can save money that I know of is by installing it yourself.

I have already replaced two of them :(
 
Forgot to add, I have tried a scrapyard but they refused to let me test before buying. The price back then was around half of a new one, but yeah I didn't want to take my chances and spend over a grand on a lemon.

The it definitely sounds like I don't have much to lose trying to sort out the wear issue and seeing what luck I have with that..
 
Okay, so a 5cm long, 0.5mm copper wire has done the trick.. door opens first time, every time like the issue never existed..

No idea how long it will last but, sure beats having to pay R 3700 for a new one..

I'm glad you got sorted. The issue with mine was it would stop locking / unlocking, and it royally confused the central locking.

Great. If it does not last, replace the wire with a length of steel rod the same size (stainless, if possible)
