ok im looking at getting appliances.

my budget is in this range

Budget of R10k for Stove and oven

Defy - Hob/exteactor and oven. We like the double gemini multifunction oven.
Whirlpool - Same as the defy products
Kelvinator - freestanding gast stove with electric oven.

Firdge freezer will only be LG or Samsung (Have good experience with these)

All carry 2 year warrantys.

But which is the lesser of the evils.

They're all much of a muchness at your R10k budget really...

Does it have to be a combined unit?

Because I would suggest a Defy oven or something of that nature,
and then getting a gas hob seperately.

i have a samsung double door fridge. it's awesome and i have only good things to say about it. picked up a shopsoiled one for like 50% or something, too

The only advice I can give is to buy from a reputable supplier... if you have problems at least you know they will be sorted asap.

Droplet, where did u get your SBS fridge from? I need to get one this weekend!

Yea i was think of

Defy - gas hob.
Defy - Double eye level oven. Can get for around R5600 - not the metallic but black - this has thermofan

Samsung seperate fridge - best price R8K
Samsing Seperate freezer. R8k

Now to look for the best deals.

Given I've had experience with the metallic oven..... stay away, unless you ahve someone cleaning it ALL the time....

Or go for the "brushed" metallic/ alluminium look. Not much cleaning needed there.

I love the samsung "mirror" SBS fridge looks good... but the "keeping it clean" part! aaaargh!

Another possibility for hobs & ovens is Bosch.

We went with a Defy Ceran glasstop hob 8 years ago and are really happy with it, easy to clean with good temperature control.
