Kite Surfing

I still miss the old Flexifoil Stackers, those things had crazy lift, watched a Landie get dragged through the sand, because we tied off on the tow hitch :)

:D

Have you seen these puppies?

yep.

I used to have 3x Super 10's, was great fun in a gale you could get monster jumps safely. With the Blade its pure brute power - accidentally bring the kite into the power zone and bye bye.

We had our first lessons this weekend :D

Crazy fun!

The gear is very expensive. Does the 2007/8 model kites differ that much from 2009/10? From a beginner stand point.

And from a beginner stand point will I know the difference between a bandit and a Ozone kite?
I’m thinking of buying a 2007/8 kite and then to save up for the newest. Is this a good idea or should I start with the newest and carry on from there?

Welcome to an awesome sport after a lot of frustration! :D

As HV has mentioned, lessons are the most important. Kite shape is important, but remember the kites are expensive so its important to buy something that will last. Personally I would look at the C shapes, as you progress you will kick yourself for not buying one!

I currently have a Liquid Force Havoc 16m 2008. Lazy compared to the kites you guys fly.

Most guys here in the UAE fly foils because of our low wind conditions, there are a number of the flysurfer speed 2 and speed 3 19m kites. Awesome power, but really REALLY lazy!

With regards to difference with the years, sometimes there are major improvements; like there is with a vehicle for instance. There are lots of reviews and comparisons on the different kites. If you find a 2007/2008, compare it to the new model and check the price difference.

What size did you try out Mila? And your boyfriend?

Happy kiting!

BF was on a 9m. And I had a training kite 3m:o I have never flown a power kite before so i am behind in many ways.

WE had to stop the lesson because the wind was very light so we have a credit.

The guy suggested I get a 9m and BF a 12M. Bf can then use my kite when the wind is too strong for me. Hopefully we will have three kites in the end a 7m for me for strong winds.
