We are researching a TV special tracking the history of TELKOM. If you know, please reply to this thread with names of those who initiated, then drove and benefitted from this self enrichment scheme.

We'd also like to interview those who lost money and business - sure, all of us did, but we want specifics. Non-trackable (@yahoo.com, @go.com etc.) email addresses will be good, then we'll do email "interviews".

its not about loosing money or business its about us being ripped through our rings

who cares abouyt money loses time. all i care is a good price

Killadoob yes we are being ripped off. But think about it what happens when you get ripped off? You lose money. Would you pay a cheap or good price if you had little or no service? I didn't think so. The big thing atm is that telkom charge way too much for almost all the products they offer. If you have ADSL you are losing money. I pay about R1170 per month for uncapped 384K ADSL but p2p is shaped so I can't always do what I want. In Hong Kong you can get a 1GBps connection for about R1300 per month.(Was news on the site a little while ago) You can get a 10Mb connection for around a R100 per month. I think this shows very well how much money we are losing by just using ADSL. Me I am losing around R1000 per month.

Telkom is evil and I hope the prices drop soon. (Yeah I know I can but dream)

but its not loosing money in a sense telkom have not taking your money and not provided you with a service thus you havent lost money. you cant say ive lost money because hong kong is cheaper this isnt hong kong or usa or anywhere is s.a. thus no money has been lost.

we can phone a hong koong company can we? no so we arent loosing money we paying a premium for a service

how many ppl live in hong kong and have broaddband we sit with around 50 or 60 thousand they sit with millions i would imagine

You guys never ever stick to the topic - make another thread for bantering.. eish.

tvproducer - I will check out a few mails I have here about people who lost business and forward them to you.

very true but I don't like the idea of paying a massive premium for a service so that some fat cat can get a new Mercedes S600. Take the international call charges atm. I think it is something like R1.15 per minute. Using skype you only pay R0.12 per minute to most of the major countries like the UK an the USA. I think that shows how badly we are being ripped! Anyway I feel like I am losing money because I am paying way too much for the service and here is why. I have no Choice. :(

Support this guys

The more aware we make the non-tech public of this issue, the better. It's generally techs and those directly interested in the 'net that are aware of some of the facets of this ripoff. BTW, I think Kiladoob stands alone in his opinion on loosing money... but thats MY OPINION :-D Any one else agree with him? lol! Why do we always seem to agree to disagree kiladoob? Maybe we'll meet some time in a civilised not-so-opinionated forum and agree for a change - lol!

Very serious.
Carte Blanche did run an insert (have a look at Hellkom.co.za) on ADSL, VOIP etc, but what we want, is find the root cause of the overpricing complaint. If there are any personal enrichment schemes, it needs to be told.

We appreciate it. Our anonymous email address will be posted soon. ta.
Mostly, of course, we do not want to concentrate (again) on the well-known problems, more the solutions, ie. who should be fired/jailed/disciplined so that Telkom becomes more honest and business friendly. Names! Please ask those in the know.
