Do many of you guys stream things like the English Premiership League games over kodi? Or F1?

What is your experience around live sport in terms of buffering?

Also how bad is the time delay?

So you don't experience buffering?

I experience severe buffering on a capped 4Mbps line to a point that if it's a match I absolutely must watch I simply buy 3 Telkom Mobile daily data top ups (R10 @ 150MB X 3) just to finish the game. At least that is on 4G(LTE?) but the quality is terrible, but hey I get to see some action.

Those streams are at best 480p so what buffering you talking about?

Jeesh dude - there is plenty other streams better than that.

F1 is streams in UltraHD,1080p 720p - English football 720p and 1080p - Bein sports 1080p - Superrugga in 720p also SD 480p and 576

So that is what we are referring to.

On a good day I can watch 720p on my VDSL 20Mbps and some Bein streams 1080

I suffer heavily when watching even the crappiest stream on my 20meg VDSL line.

Strange when I think about it now cause no issues on Netflix

Which addons do you use?

Plenty of buffering for me on a WebAfrica (yes, I know) 100/100 connection. Looking forward to trying a new ISP once 12 months is up (I'll have to pay installation costs if I move before then).

Your Netflix stream is most likely coming from a Netflix content node located in South Africa; if your sports streams are coming from somewhere international, that could explain the difference in quality of experience.

I am in the same boat as you. On 50Mb/50Mb and experiencing 10% in terms of download speed that I pay for. I will be taking it further. All I want is WA to apply themselves in addressing my issue, no more.

Are you referring to your international bandwidth? I'm on a 25Mb/25Mb fibre line and have major issues with international bandwidth speeds. The speed fluctuates massively. Buffering on Kodi streams depends on the server you are streaming from as well, many of the free streaming servers are overloaded.

True, you get what you pay for. Buffering on the free Kodi servers is to be expected, and is not your ISPs fault. The free servers only work briefly until enough people know about them, and then they start buffering as well. I have tried a number of the paid services including Netflix USA (when it was still available through Unotelly), Hulu, Sling Blue, and Fubo. They stream smoothly in HD on a 20Mbps line. No such luck with Kodi for the sports streams. It's either the paid services or DSTV.

The paid services are not too bad for the price when compared to the DSTV cost. You can get decent ones for $10-$20 and some of them cover most international channels (sports and entertainment).
