Koo samp and beans

I tried this recently out of curiousity.

The tin was all samp and about 4 beans.

I've used Koo's samp and beans with beef mince a couple of times. Was very good.

I've haven't done it in a long time. Kinda forgotten about it.

Never had samp and beans - what's it for?

It's just a canned product. De-husked mealies (corn) and beans in a mild curry flavoured sauce.
Is it a staple? A side dish? Something that gets pushed around the plate with the hopes that it will magically disappear?

I don't think it's suppose to be a side dish.

I don't think it's tasty enough.

But as a supplement to a meat like mince, it does work.

I like samp and beans made in the traditional way, but it takes WAYYYYYY to long. I have tried the tinned version but it has that "canned" taste, you know?
