Got up Sunday morning and found our telephone line dead which meant no adsl :(
SMSed our phone number to Telkom's fault report line, 30591, 10 minutes later we received an SMS acknowledging the call with a reference number and approx 2 hours later a SMS saying the line was fixed and hoping we are satisfied.
Wow, for a Sunday and we live out in the sticks, this was most amazing.
Well done Telkom :)
 
wait not sure if sarcasm or not

did they fix the line in 2 hours or say they fixed it and left you hanging?
 
Nope line was fixed and everything back to normal.
Just thought I'd give credit where it was due.
Believe me I nearly fell on my back :)
 
I think they were already working on the exchange and then they just closed your fault.
 
Both our landlines went down too and also sent a message [used two phones] but didn't get a reply saying it was fixed :( but glad the turnaround was quick :).

I also noticed they now send you an SMS asking all sorts of questions including the technician's name whose come out and how you felt about them helping. I like this alot.
