Kulula dares Mango on profit

Venter said losses suffered by SAA and its subsidiaries were funded directly by South African taxpayers.

"We, together with all other South African taxpayers, would be overjoyed if Mango makes profit and will host a huge party for their entire management team if this ever happens," Venter said.

Venter acknowledged that Mango had helped grow the travel market but added that this was at the cost of Mango's own profitability and that of its parent, SAA.

"The proof is ultimately in the pudding and if we are proven wrong, we'll be eating lots of humble pie at the party," said Venter.

Could not agree more with what DA had to say about it, how can one remain focused! Since they are not measured on performance, does not really make a difference...

Yup interesting stuff.
The man has a point about a skills shortage.
I don't really have a problem with these okes on multiple boards as long as they are not in anyway related in the business sense or through tenders.
My main concern is that he is not doing a very good job now is he, as SAA is looking for a few more billion to bail them out the poop.

Maybe Ngqula is lacking in skills

Mango flights - SAA hypocrisy

The fact that an ANC government which supposedly is meant to be looking after the interests of the poor, decides to splurge billions on the flying class (who lets face it are the wealthy), by subsidising SAA & Mango flights, is either evidence of their hypocrisy or their ignorance.
