"I want to say, personally, after hearing his version of the story, I believe in his innocence," Kunene said yesterday.

SUSHI king Kenny Kunene has pledged his support for Oscar Pistorius.

He said he would be happy if Pistorius were granted bail by the Pretoria Magistrate's Court.

"I spent six years in prison myself and I have seen guys who had been on trial for years. This is not a trial that is going to end in three months. So I think it would be best for him to get bail and finalise this trial from the outside," Kunene said.

"It can't be easy for anyone. Only his family, friends and his faith are helping him."

Kunene said he had been subjected to a lot of criticism for supporting Pistorius, but "people should remember that we must be impartial".

He said unlike people who have already passed judgment on Pistorius, he was going to let the court decide.

"He gave his side of the story yesterday and all those prophets of doom, who had reduced him to being guilty without even knowing his version, will now have to wait and see how the case ends up."

And Kunene's message for Pistorius?

"Keep praying. I will go on loving him and I will remain a friend and if he wants me to help him I will do so."

But Commission for Gender Equality's Javu Baloyi said the public should not divert from the scourge of gender-based violence.

Baloyi, who was at the court yesterday, said people should remember that Reeva Steenkamp was not just Pistorius's girlfriend, but that she was also a person.

He urged that the fight against women abuse should include educating men and boys.

He's an idiot then.

We all know Oscar is not innocent. We just don't know what precisely he is guilty of.

I also don't like them calling this gender-based violence. He didn't shoot her because of her gender.
It's the same as calling an incident between a black guy and a white guy a racially motivated incident - when race may have nothing to do with it.

Just because there's a difference between people, doesn't mean that difference is the cause of the incident. We need to stop thinking like this!

The trial over already ?

The trial over already ?

I think it is more along the lines of he is either guilty of murder or guilty of stupidity that caused the death of a young woman. Either way I say he deserves prison time even if only to learn not to be trigger happy. I dont want that man on the streets.

Kunene ,dude your spotlight days are over. All this guy wants is the media and the attention back on him, even using Oscar for this, pathetic
