Well today is the day we see what happens with regards to the auction - if in a year or so I'll still be overlooking Kyalami race track from the balcony at work, or an office park/residential estate :/ Auction just started, so maybe by the end of the day it'll all be done

Also very curious to see what it goes for

Reserve price is R200 Mill.

And at that price, it's a bargain. It will go for a lot more than that. Land in that area is stupidly expensive at the moment. I'd develop the shiz out of that thing if I had a couple of extra hundred millions lying around.

Damn another landmark due to be lost. Races there have been limited due to noise for years. Could never understand that, as it was a Racetrack long before all the development in the area, and yet people/businesses moved in and then complained about noise.

Was just sold for 205 mil, don't know who the buyer is though.

#Kyalami Porsche South Africa were the successful bidders.

Hmmm Porsche you say? Interesting... This could end well!

That is good news! Porche has a vested interest in international motor racing. Hopefully we will see a 6hr endurance race here! I would love to see LMP1 racing here

#Kyalami has been bought by Porsche SA. MD Toby Venter: "It is part of SA history and would have been tragedy if it had gone to developers."
