I think this trial proved something truly ominous.... the fact that whatever path the US is on right now is almost inevitably leading to some or other form of civil war and I don't see how they'll steer away from that.

You simply cannot have a more clear cut case of self-defence combined with video from all angles and yet, it's this controversial and the mainstream media is completely and utter f**ed (now, with proper proof). Having followed this entire thing for a while now, I was literally Cyril levels of shocked seeing a lot of the coverage from the usual suspects (CNN, MSNBC, talk shows etc.)

They are in deep k*k... and we can meme all we want but having the West's most powerful country in this sad state of affairs at this particular time in history is not really helping me sleep at night.

What ridiculously stupid bubble-perspective is this.
The only ones who seems to have watched the trial are the right.
Leftists are still spewing fake sht like Rittenhouse crossing state lines with a rifle lmao and that he went and looked for people to murder.

The best part is all of them moaning about the judge, calling him a far-right racist for weeks. The judge, who is a democrat and who was appointed by a democrat.

She is progressive, but is considered far right these days.

People have been saying the same about SA for years though.

Although, given the whole russian hack with the Trump election, it could very well be that there is some form of meddling going on there. Combined with the nonsense in Poland/Belarus and China/Taiwan, I can see why you're being kept awake at night.

Different context, but yes some of the phoenix vigilantes were looking for kak.

Riots are riots. Those armed people manning barricades are considered provocateurs by their mere presence & being armed some here will tell you.

Rittenhouse never antagonised anybody as testified by witnesses including those of the prosecution. He helped diffuse one situation, offered protestors help (Gaige was walking behind him at the time and testified as such), he and others received a lot of verbal abuse & threats yet they ignored it and did not respond, the only known verbal interaction he had with the protestors was when a woman shouted 'fsck you' to him to which he responded 'i love you to ma'm'. Not a single prosecution witness could say anything negative about his interactions that night until the kiddy rapist went after him. Wrt white supremacy claims the prosecution, fbi etc trawled his internet history with a fine tooth comb and found nothing.

Despite everything that came out in the trial the media and people are still perpetuating falsehoods and they're doubling down...

This has totally confused me. Am I right that you agree with the verdict? If so, what would you have done with Mr Rittenhouse?
I agree with the verdict 100%.

No way he should have been in that situation or escalated it with open carry of an assault rifle but ffs someone pointed their gun at him.

Open and shut case right there IMO.

I would have barred him from owning a firearm license forever for creating the situation to begin with though.

This is also a clear case of American gun culture, uh, backfiring.

An assault rifle? I thought it was a semi-automatic.
