At this stage police believe that this is linked to a labour dispute. She was a supervisor, and responsible for hiring and firing.
What's going on? Why, normal, common or garden, everyday, nothing-out-of-the-ordinary crime, naturally...caused by poverty and the past and things of that nature. Perfectly normal. Nothing to question here!
On the nature reserve killing:
Ah, yes. Must've been a labour dispute because of the fact that nothing was stolen. When I read about this on Saturday, it was simply a matter of nothing having been stolen so by now it was either going to be called a botched robbery or a labour dispute. I mean, the attack could never have been a hate crime based on the colour of the victims' skin, could it? And before we go down the "but it doesn't say anything about the attacker/s race"...puhleeze.
As for the other crime, details are sketchy right now but it'd be interesting to hear what was stolen from this couple, if anything.
Sorry for my more than cynical attitude today. It's just one of those days so far where I so wish I could go Dirty Harry on these sorry excuses for human beings.
whites killed blacks. => corrupt metrocop
blacks killed whites. => white genocide.
fixed![]()
Ok, that's taking things to the other extreme and, yes, I do see your point. However, I have not commented on the rugby player thread so my thoughts on that are let 'em throw the book at him if he's found guilty. On the other hand, if that rugby player had gone off and murdered this cop and his wife in their home, you can bet your bottom ZAR that the story would be big news on CNN right now with the word 'race' boiling at the center of discussion. Come to think of it, has the actual story made CNN?
I do think genocide is a strong word and whether or not that is happening by definition is beyond my sole ability to judge although there is an undeniable pattern emerging and, at this point, those who refuse to acknowledge it will probably never be convinced otherwise.
Cop killed while fishing
What's going on?
Cop's murder suspect killed by policeA man was shot and killed by police on Monday after he was suspected of killing an off-duty police officer and critically wounding his fiancée on Sunday in Esikhawin, KwaZulu-Natal police said.
Members from the Durban Organised Crime Unit and the Eshowe Crime Intelligence Unit followed information about the suspect and went to his Esikhawin house at noon, Colonel Jay Naicker said.
The suspect, in his 30s, pointed a firearm at police and attempted to shoot at them, police returned fire and the suspect was killed.
Naicker said the police officers were "fortunate to survive".
A firearm from the suspect, as well as a vehicle and other items belonging to the victims, were recovered.
Detectives are still looking for one other suspect in connection with the attack.
Captain Kevein Marallich and his fiancée Cathy Potgieter were attacked while they had been fishing on Sunday afternoon at a farm dam near the town of Nyoni, about 30km north of KwaDukuza (Stanger).
They were apparently confronted by two men, one of whom was armed with a pistol.
Marallich was shot in the face and Potgieter was severely assaulted and was found by farm workers floating in the dam.
She is still in hospital.
Both were from Eshowe and Marallich worked for the police's crime intelligence unit in Eshowe.

How safe is the North Coast as a holiday destination? From news the last couple of years things appear to have gone bad.
Very dangerous. One often hears about people being killed there. I am talking about the area more or less where Kosibay (sp.) is.
What's going on?

Cop's murder suspect killed by police
Well done to the cops on reacting quickly on a tip off.
Question I'd like answered is whether the fact that the cops will most likely shoot you dead before you get your day in court is more or less of a detterent than a functional judicial system?
If the answer is yes, then let the bodies of violent criminals continue to pile.
