Looking to upgrade to VDSL through Axxess.

They have 2 VDSL routers for sale, the only real difference I can see is L2TP support. Axxess have a search box to see if my exchange supports this. it does

I last studied networking in 1999 so I need a quick catch up please.

Layer 2 Tunneling Protocol = Layer 2 VPN = VPN with switches for endpoints ????????

Am I missing why this feature is important. What are the use cases.

Thanks for the help

Right so you join the ISP's L2 and they can therefore assign you an address on their network?

Ok

Thanks SauRoNZA

Yes I believe that's the case.

So if your router doesn't support it then you can't get one, but that's rarely a requirement for end users.
