This is such a beautiful aria. I first heard it in the movie Philadelphia.

It is sung here by Maria Callas with Tulio Serafin conducting the Philharmonia Orchestra.

"La mamma morta" means "They killed my mother". It is an aria from the opera Andrea Chénier by Umberto Giordano. Here are the translated lyrics:
