everytime these noobs make a patch something goes tits up.

Since last patch its been my fps.

So, has anyone else had this/been able to fix it?

My specs are as follows:

Pentium D 930 3.0GHZ
Nvidia Chaintech 9600GT 512mb GFX Card
2.5gb Ram
550w Aerocool Realpower psu
19" widescreen Samsung monitor running at 1440x900
all settings are on high.

But it doesnt matter if they on low fps stays the same.

Reinstalled latest drivers. I get around 20-30fps and if i look at the ground i get 56. Vertical Sync off.

DUDE thats not lag its your pc is getting outdated when frames drop.
I had a Pentium 4 3000 ghz with a 7600 geforce
in shat i got 15-25 frames per second.

After i got new PC siting at 75 permanently will drop to 68 in shat sometimes.

I thougth it was server and transfered cause of FPS and i wanted to kick myself for going to a low pop server after getting new pc.

I'm also experiencing quite big lag spikes every now and again.

My Setup:
Q9300
GA-P35-DSL
4GB Memory
7800GTX <- time for an upgrade :o
Vista 64bit

Ok, I know the gfx card is old but I was not experiencing nearly as many spikes as I do now post-patch. It reminds me of the 2.3 patch (i think it was) when they first introduced the native "teamspeak", my lag went through the roof but a it seems to have gotten better as time went on. (could just be the reg hack though ;))
Hopefully the problem will get sorted out as Blizzard add more hot fixes.

On a side note I've noticed that the net in general has been quite slow recently so that probably adds to the problem.

No no no, this has been since the latest patch. No problems previously. and Iam running COD4 all high settings no problems. I think cod4 requires a bit more than wow.

During my browsing today I found this guide

Make a *.bat (using notepad) file on your desktop

type this in

@echo off
cd /d "path to wow folder" eg. c:\program files\world of warcraft
start /high wow.exe

Supposed to give you a extra 15fps.

gonna test tonight

End of the month. People maxing their caps, so latency will probably be affected.
If it's FPS, maybe take out your graphics card and blow the dust off the fan/give it a good clean.I noticed the same after having my old gfx card in my box for years, couldnt figure it out for weeks until one day I figured I'd dig around in the guts. The amount of dust and gunk buildup had slowed the fan down and the card was overheating. Cleaned it up, and good as new.

Vista?
Soundcard?

If "yes" and "creative", then yeah. Welcome to the suck. Some games just simply wouldnt work well for me, and others would work fine, back when i was running vista+audigy.

Im running a 6600gt and my frames don't normally drop under 25-30fps. Check how much memory your add-ons use, maybe that's it?

Although Im not in outlands yet, maybe thats why :D

omg i cant believe. I just tried the method I posted above and have now gow 90-130fps. Its either that or that I put my max virtual memory to 11gb. but the *.bat method owns.

ok so its not the *bat thing it must be virtual mem or another tweak I tried.

add the following to your config.wtf file in the WTF folder.

SET soundmaxhardwarechannels "12"
SET SoundSoftwareChannels "12"

I have never seen 90-130 frames I run my wow on a Petium duel core 3000 mhz 2gig gaming ram 1066mhz ram with 8600 GT i never get above 75 but never below 65 frames per second.

but then again taking a break from wow cant handle the latency iget these days on HSDPA i get 700-1000ms most days.Use to be (400-600ms) in the good old days.

Just not desprated enougth to play at those latencys anymore.

Well I coulnt believe it myself a jump from 20-30fps to 130fps and that was in TB. I logged onto my other toon in Shatt and was getting 58-80fps.

Damn 130 fps!
Well atleast I cannot complain I have 60 fps always. Seems to be an quadcore problem with wow, so fps capped at 60 fps.

I live with 30fps in Shatt ... I make up for it by having a ping of 221ms (as I type).

Maybe I need to upgrade my x700pro ... :D

LOL , noobs cause there are always problems after patch release. Well actually I have only had a problem since the last patch. if you read the technical forums there are hundreds of ppl complaining after patch releases. 99% of the time its addon releated.

So the actual n00bs are the addon developers, or us that don't keep our addons updated or even keeping track of all of them!
From all the online games I have played, the patching with wow is by far the best. Only issue I have with Blizzard is the lag inside Battle grounds :( But I guess running a few hundred separate servers for BG instancing aint a trivial thing.

Sure vsync is turned off? It syncs your fps with your monitor refresh rate (60hz for lcd's).
