Quite surprised not to see anything about this....

I'm not a pop fan at all, I'm a 90's alternate guy all the way, but my wife is a Gaga fan and she's been to plenty rock concerts with me so off we went to JHB.
On Tuesday I decided to listen to her standard setlist so I actually knew the songs at the show, I was quite surprised that I already knew quite a few songs from the little bit of radio I listen to.

As I expected it was a huge stage production which was entertaining, but what really impressed me were the 4 songs she played with just her on piano, one of which was a 2nd version of Born This Way which has not been played before, so JHB got the longest set of the tour. She also called up fans who sat with her at the piano and then again for the last song. Overall it was a great 2½ hour show, not really my scene but I certainly gained heaps of respect for her.

Set was awesome. Costumes were friggin awesome. My favourites were played so I was content.

Ja - not my scene by a long shot and going to it would've killed me. But I have heard loads of okes like OP sing her praises for a fantastic production. Bit of a hound those safari pics but hey, if she makes her cash gotta tip one's hat, which doesn't require any appreciation of her "art"

Never understood why people feel the need to box themselves and apply a label ;) My music also leans heavily towards alternate and rock but I'll happily admit to liking the odd "rave" song, pop and the like. I see no shame in it.

Regarding Gaga, I have grown particularly fond of her song "Edge of Glory" and specifically the acoustic version:

I never went to her concert though.

That concert put U2's 3D to shame.

I'm not fan, but watching that show was like theatre, really, really, really impressive.

I LOVE Lady Gaga!!!!!!!!!!!! I am so upset I can't go!! I totally forgot about the concert lol and did not buy a ticket meh!!

I keep forgetting that people don't care about music any more, but a show.

Sad indeed.

I keep forgetting that people believe that their personal preferences should apply to everyone.

Sad indeed.

I was referring to people that keep saying it's because of the "show", not the music. How do you see a show on the cd?

Yes some people would go to the concert for the show but they wouldn't be the ones buying the CDs. It's like how some women go to watch soccer to see the men I suppose :p

I went to the concert and was blown away by three things.

1) What an amazing audio and visual experience it was.
2) That Lady Gaga and her dancing were pretty amazing
3) Lady Gaga can changes clothes quicker than any other human I know.

Ive also learnt. Sitting area sucks and unless I am getting Golden Circle I am not going back to another big concert.

Im not the worlds biggest Gaga fan but it was an amazing experience. I am very glad I went to the biggest music show at the moment. 55k people at my concert!

The Darkness were also pretty cool. Lady Starlight was :wtf: Waste of time that act.
