Scientists believe that in the lake under the ice surface there are some species that have survived 15 billions years. However, these species would be something that the world has never seen before, as they would have developed under complete darkness. The researchers are close to obtaining a water sample, so we should wait for the results.

Yeah. Would be interesting if they find life there, it would increase hope of finding some sort of life on a few moons in our solar system.

Well after doing some reading around the web etc. it seems the UK are also in the process of now drilling through the ice to get through to another lake, this time not as thick though.
