Here is the real story
Accident investigators have been able to piece together the circumstances of a horror car crash that killed four people on Witkoppen Road, north-west of Joburg.
However, they cannot say at what speed the Lamborghini driven by 22-year-old Brett Scott was travelling.
On Monday, Joburg metro police's Chief Superintendent Wayne Minnaar said a preliminary investigation revealed that Scott lost control of the high-powered sports vehicle and hit a VW Golf in the opposite lane on Sunday.
The impact was so severe that both cars burst into flames.
"We have not been able to establish what speed the vehicles were going at," he said.
Scott's father Terry said that, contrary to earlier reports, the Lamborghini did not belong to Brett but to a company he was doing business with.
Scott and the driver of the Golf, Albert Ncube, 44, were burnt to death. A male passenger in the Golf was partially burnt while a female passenger was flung out and died at the side of the road.
The passengers had not yet been identified.
Ncube, who was driving a company car at the time, was a senior manager at Top Security.
Family friend Lovemore Mazibuko said Ncube, a Zimbabwean, had lived in South Africa for nearly 20 years and became a citizen.
His wife and three children, aged 18, 11 and two, still live in Bulawayo. "It is very sad for all of us. His family back home are devastated. He was such a good person," Mazibuko said.
