this might sound silly but if i connect a Ethernet cable from a switch (active network), into the Ethernet port on the MR3420 will the router send out a wireless signal as its receiving connectivity from the switch ?

basically can i link the LAN connectivity to the Router and then browse net via iphone / ipad etc ?

thanks in advance.

Sure it'll work.

Connect the Ethernet cable (from the switch) to the WAN port at the back of the MR340.
Your network will (hopefully) assign IP details to the MR340
:-)
Connect a Ethernet cable (from a laptop or PC) to the LAN port on the MR340 and login.
RTFM to see how.

Setup a wireless network and voilah.
Wireless connectivity.
Just make sure the wireless network is in "mixed mode" (802.11B/G & N) and not 802.11N only, or your older wireless devices won't connect.

Have bot worked with a MR340 myself but my pearls of wisdom seem to make sense.
Kick me if I'm wrong.
:-)
