Lancet vs Ampath laboratories

Lab tests at hospitals are so darn expensive these days. Apart from lancet and Ampath what other companies are there who can do these tests quickly and cost effectively.

Has anyone ever managed to negotiate more favorable prices from these labs?

Government hospitals use these guys.

So does UCT Private Academic Hospital (a joint venture between Netcare and UCT/Groot Schur. My surgery patients from overseas in my last company were all tested by these guys here's a direct link to services http://www.nioh.ac.za/?page=diagnostic_services&id=24
I found on average the cost saving was half that of any commercial lab and in many cases a quarter the cost for some blood work.

Yes on the CAT scans and the MRI scans I negotiated significant cash discounts but only from The other two main Labs in cape town- not the ones you mention.
