Hi All

Does anyone know of any LAN's that still exist in JHB? I recall the good old days of looking forward to a Friday night LAN till Sunday, carting my large ass 19" CRT around and buying hot dogs and just playing games all night long.

Whats stopping people from attending LAN's? Is it internet connections that are required at LAN's and if so, why cant the people hosting LAN's install an internet connection, maybe 10MB or 20MB, maybe even get it sponsored by Telkom.

This reminds me of the Drive In's we used to have, now we have nothing but popupcinema to look forward to...

What gives?

Isn't there still a place in Northriding by Banbury Chicken Licken?

LAN's are harder now as most games require internet and a licensed copy.

It's also because more and more people are getting better and better internet connections, meaning that they can just play their games online instead of going to a big LAN. And it allows you to download stuff if you want to. Gone are the days of too slow internet. Sure, we aren't the fastest in the world (not even close), but it's good enough.
