Hi Everybody.

I have been trying to get in contact with @lantic for the better part of this morning.
One of our email addresses is hosted with them, and it keeps timing out. (Looks like the server is offline)
When trying to phone them, (012 990 4712 or 087 805 0003) the phone just rings and eventually dies.

None of their websites open.

Is it possible that they are completely offline?

Can anybody please shed some light on the matter?

Thanks!

Yip VOX, Data Pro & @lantic

SIP, E-Mail, Web Hosting are all offline. only their DSL services are working.....

Ok, thanks for the feedback.

Sounds pretty huge! I hear this has been happening more often.

It has happened more often, wonder when Vox will have someone come on and explain how long the downtime will be?

yeah, they should do that. but the fact that they are not reachable via phone - that must be killing their clients...

I would love to see some sort of notification on the vox site at least to inform us of the @lantic downtime.

does anyone have any more info yet on how long this might last, the previous one was 2-3 days intermittently

This from Twitter about an hour ago:

We are currently experiencing network issues. We are working hard to get things resolved as soon as possible.

Why even use @lantic?

Im sure there are better alternatives?

Would like to know that one too ...

PS: A birdie told me that the issue happened around midnight, so they have been off for more than 12 hours - EPIC FAIL !

just a major hassle to change email addresses...probably why I've stuck with them so long...

UPDATE VOX TELECOM:
Together with EMC, the replacement hardware has now been successfully
installed. Full service restoration will occur within the next 8 hours. We
experienced a unanticipated, critical hardware failure on both existing and
redundant equipment, and we’ll report back to customers as soon as the
restoration is complete.

One day of business lost: Website down, Voip Pbx down, email down! thousands of $$ down the tubes.
Vox say they hope to have systems up by midnight...... remains to be seen.

If they're down longer than 24 hours they're legally required to credit you for 1 day of service afaik.

Maybe I should quickly drive over there and show them how to keep a computer online.

Some of us are old Absa internet clients, so they're holding our email adresses hostage.
I certainly wouldn't consider them as my primary ISP though.
