laptop advice - under 7K(?)

Looking at buying a laptop, and could use some advice / recommendations from those with the know…

Budget is a factor. Just a home use machine – internet & emailing, transfer digital pics & video, skype etc. Would be nice to have wi-fi & built-in web cam / mic for the odd overseas visit.

Which brands have the best local support & repair facilities – and which should I be weary of in these terms ?

Will a Celeron, 1gb Ram handle Vista OK ?

Which retail outlets would you recommend in the Jhb / Pta area ?

I would recommend looking at the Fujitsu Siemens range @ Makro - Personally I think their pricing for what you get is very decent and I have heard the service is decent.

For 7K you could get a decent one for sure. Celerons are ok, but for R7999K you can get this which has everything you need and maybe a little more.
