Laptop is for university studies. Will mostly be used for media, programming and downloading.

These are the absolute necessities.

- 1080p display.
- 4-8GB ram.
- A 128gb ssd, or a hybrid disk.
- a 4th gen i5 or i7.
- 14" display.

These are the ones that got my attention so far :

Could anyone recommend a laptop, keeping in mind the specs I mentioned? I would prefer the price to be below 20k, even less if possible. No Apple, the OS creeps me the **** out.

Rather wait for June/July , are you in a rush to purchase the notebook! New models will be introduced shortly and many reductions will be underway.

Nothing works as well as advertised :) .

The performance gains relative to the price is where a sshd excels. I would have to fork out a lot more to get a decently sized ssd in a laptop, and I don't really care about the write speeds.

I'm only leaving in August, but quitting job at the end of this month, so I would like to buy it with the paycheck and not from savings.
