Nah, having to run a VM on a 256Gb SSD machine with 13" screen to do daily Power BI work .. not a chance.

Well in that case it’s a business expense and you shouldn’t be paying for it or be restricted to 15k.

Also **** VM’s. They are prehistoric. It’s the modern world, use containers.

Your clients must cringe when you come along. I'm not going to tell someone what their budget should be when their budget is enough for what they need and want. Being able to expense something to business doesn't make it magically fit a budget. If you spend money here, you make sacrifices there. It's about weighing up those decisions and making a call that works for you.

Tell us about how you would go about running Power BI desktop using containers on an M1.

Seems decent value for money, tried asking Firstshop but they aren't too sure themselves what display it comes with. Tech dot co dot za, also sell it and said its a VA panel screen which is even more confusing cause never seen a laptop with a VA panel before.

The SKU/model number is 7K9J8AA which also isn't on HPs website. Hoping to see if anyone here might know about what display this laptop comes with and what's the correct model number for it.

15" screen and number pad
i5 or i7 or good AMD equivalent
1080 screen
512+ SSD
16gb RAM

For R15999 you can get the Asus Rog Ally. 16GB RAM, 512GB NVME SSD, 1080P 120Hz screen, Asus Z1 Extreme CPU in some regards faster than Apple M2.

Indeed, a USB-C dock, a screen, keyboard and mouse. However, to use a laptop often people need these as laptop screens tend to be small and large screens and keyboards also do wonders. Those peripherals are usually not that expensive. As a bonus, if you buy the Ally from ASUS SA you get 3 years of warranty.
