Hi Guys

I require a new machine for work. The machine will run Visual Studio, SQL Server 2012, Eclipse, and some other dev/bi tools.

The company gets their I.T products from Mustek and recommended me a Mecer laptop  for +10K. Now, that Mecer laptop is an i5 with 4GB RAM and 1TB HDD. The problem with the laptop is that the keyboard sucks, track pad is worse and feels very cheap.

So, I'm considering buying a dell from a retailer instead.
I saw this from Dion wired, and wanted your guys opinion. I don't care about the weight and the lack of a numeric keypad.

Specs:
Intel Core i7 3612m 2.1GHz
8GB Memory 1TB Hard Drive
15.6in High Definition (1366X768) WLED
Blu Ray / DVD+/-RW Combo Drive 2GB 7730 Radeon GF
3 Year Next Business Day

Thanks :)

I haven't worked with a Toshiba before, so not sure about the reliability.
Yes, Mustek distributes Toshiba as well.

The Dell notebook won't work for you, cos the screen resolution is just too puny if you will be staring at the display all day.

You need a notebook that is full HD, or 1920X1080, or look for a 17.3'' notebook.

That is indeed a good deal. Not to phased about the USB3 seeing it has eSATA which I would prefer for storage.
