Laptop help needed pleassssse

Hi All

I am in the process of buying a new laptop, but not sure which one to buy.

My budget is about R7000 and i will be using the laptop to mainly play online games (mainly poker which is not too graphic) which needs a fast internet connection and watch DVD movies when i hire them from the video store.

I am thinking of the following specs for my needs:

Intel Core 2 duo 1.6 to 2.0 ghz
2 gigs of ram.

I think those 2 specs are the most important in terms of my needs, please advise.


I saw the HP Notebook 550 reatailing for R7700 at Choas, this seems a decent buy

Has the following specs:

Is there any other laptop in this price range that is advisable or is this a good buy.

Webdirect sent me an email with demo HP's. I do not know whether they still have some stock. I purchased a Lenovo from them(used once) and it was basically brand new.
