Laptop HP repairs

First thing I would do is remove battery and place in a bowl of rice, do it now!

When did this happen?

Second the problem could be many things, it could be you broke/disconnected a cable opening it, the motor has been damaged or any other component.

Look I will be willing to have a look if you want, I am no expert but have opened and repaired a good few hp laptops including replacing a screen

when water is spilt on a laptop remove the battery immediately. Don't bother shutting down !(windows is repairable)

worst things to spill on a laptop:
cat pee (was yummy to open )
redwine
coke
coffee

Seems like it may be a ribbon issue, an external monitor works perfectly, someone here helped me determine that ;)

Ok that is good news, now best to check all monitor connections, if I recall you will have a black an da white cable that goes through and is normal accessible through the small panel underneath and another thicker bunch of cables plugging into the (not sure if this is what it is called) inverter that is situated in the bottom of the screen, that plug goes into the main board but internal around the top left above where the CPU commonly is.

Thanks boy and thanks to the man who helped me on Google chat you know who you are.
The inverter cable was loose, working fine now and everything back to normal.

Thanks again and especially to my buddy ;)

big up to whoever that was :)

and glad you came right.

Only issue now is the speakers are not working, for some odd reason, however after seeing "let me repair" all over Hellopeter, I do not want to go there

i personally wont go back there unless it is covered under warranty.

hmmm for the speakers you may need to strip again.

depending on model, if i am not mistaken you may only need to remove screws under battery and clip off section above the keyboard.

You are right however I think for some reason the PC board where the power button is, is damaged, the power button does not work and the speakers do not work but the rest of the panel, where the quick access touch buttons are, do work

so if the power button does not work how did you turn it on?

perhaps open and take a look at the board to see if you can see damage, could also just be a cable.

Using the HP quick select blue in colour buttons, they work, the power and speakers do not, seems to be that little board they all connect to for some weird reason.
I checked the ribbons and they are all ok and connected :(
There must be someone else besides let me repair :(
