I have just got an old laptop to use temporarily while i wait to buy a media player. I don't have it in front of me now, but it has windows 7 on it. I tried using it through s-video, but nothing, and then i used the dvi/dvi cable from the laptop to the LCD. Still nothing. It doesn't register a second screen even if i ask to detect. I also used the Fn manner, but nothing. What suggestions? Thanks

Did you push the function key and a key that has a little picture of a monitor? I know that sometimes helps.

Tried it. AFAIK, Win7 should automatically detect an external monitor. From there i know how, as i had it with my previous PC with Win7. Only thing i can think, is the outputs are not working, or perhaps the onboard graphics don't allow it, but then again, it's Win7 that does all the work? Frustrating
