Laptop Options

Hi Guys. I'm toying with the idea of getting myself a laptop. Mainly for home use and a bit of work as well. I do have a desktop at home as well, but I like the convenience and mobility of a laptop. I'd like to use it for multimedia, internet, a bit of photoshopping and obviously word, excel and outlook. I'm not into gaming, so I don't need a high spec pc, but I do want some kind of future proofing. The last time I purchased a pc was 5 years ago, so I'm not too clued up with the different processors and stuff. I've received the following quotations:

I've googled both models, but can't seem to find many solid reviews, especially of the first one. What I'm trying to find out is if there are any alternatives to the above that I could consider and your opinions of them.
