Quick question :)

Where in SA (or from someone who sells in Rands and delivers to SA) can I find a 14.1" widescreen laptop privacy screen/filter to fit a Dell latitude D630 laptop?

The trick is that it will be purchased through the company so whoever we use must be willing to accept a 30 day credit period.

Dell themselves say they do not make these for the D series laptop but the user is adamant I get him a universal one to fit his laptop so that people cannot see what he is working on in public areas.

I am having a hard time finding a vendor who can supply these :/ :(

Nevermind...I am going to tell the user no can do sorry :p even if he is a GM.

Wasting my time trying to hunt for arbitrary parts on his behalf when time is of the essence here :/

Two major vendors of ours say they cannot supply it anyway.

What is it? Sounds interesting.

People put these on their cell phones. They're especially popular in
Japan and Taiwan where you don't want ppl to see what you're typing
on your high resolution wide viewing angle mobile displays.
Its silly though, they put these wide viewing angle, super high res
displays in cell phones and then block em with privacy screen protector filters.

Why would people want to hide what they were writing so much that they would attach a special screen thingy to stop other people looking?

On a crowded subway you may want to stop people from seeing what your email or sms says. The same for some exec
and his latop in the local coffee shop.

Yep, this guy travels a lot and on airplanes especially he doesn't want others seeing what he is doing on his laptop.

Well I have decided rather than to give up I am going to forward this request on to someone who can maybe help source the flipping thing :)

Depends on your environment - I sometimes work in an open plan office on confidential stuff like salaries, I don't want anyone to see.

The thing about these filters is they make a casual 'shoulder surfing' peek nearly impossible without getting caught. If you need this thing so bad why not pay for it cash?

3M Privacy Filters are now available locally and online through WebAntics Online. The trick with these is that you have to match them up to your notebook correctly otherwise they will be too big or too small.
