Laptop - R12k budget

Hey,

A buddy has asked me which laptop he should get. His work is going to buy it for him and they will pay up to R12000. It just needs to be through a proper company as his work will be handling the payment.

He will be using the laptop for general office work and surfing the web as well as movies and maybe a odd game.

He isn't worried about it being large and wouldn't mind a 17' HD screen, i7, 0.5TB+ hd, 4gig+ ram.

It must come with Windows7 64bit and last him the next 3years.

Cape Town area or online stores.

Any ideas on where to start looking would be very much appreciated.

well for that budget i doubt you will... try using price checks notebook thingy..
You can filter the results based on your preferences..
And well, Win 7 64bit + i7 only give three possible results and all three are 20k/...

If i was shopping for a laptop i'd get the one qwikslver linked to.. Awesome specs for the price..
And really you dont NEED Win7 ultimate... Professional gets the job done just a good..

Cool, thanks QS, that looks like a decent one. Doesn't matter which win7, just as long as its 64bit.

Importing's not going to work as his company needs to pay directly for it.
