Laptop Ram Upgrade

hi,

I have a acer aspire 3620 wxmi, it came with 512mb DDR2 400/533 RAM, I need to upgrade this to at lest a 1 GB as I Run Visual Studio 2005, and Photshop ect, i am going to put Vista Business on this as well.

Any one got any idea where i can get a 1GB Ram Chip the cheapest i could find is R1500, will then replace one of the 256 chips, (has 2) and get 1024 + 256 MB.

Don't really know your location but Cyberdyne systems (located in Johannesburg) sell Supertalent 533Mhz DDR2 SO-DIMM's 1GIG chips go for R435 ex. VAT. Their 667Mhz modules aren't much more expensive.

BTW. Supertalent memory modules have a lifetime warranty and they are really starting to make a name for themselves now (check reviews, their modules are very good). So the brand name isn't an issue. Not that you can complain at that price.

EDIT: WAIT, it is a laptop right? Else the Supertalent 1Gig DDR2 533 Mhz DIMMS go for R395 ex. VAT.

Also note that you should consider going for the 667 modules instead unless your hardware specifically doesn't support 667Mhz modules.

Going to order the Supertalent 1Gig DDR2 533, there prices are great.

Vista here i come, My location is knysna so DHL is used in any case.

Make sure that the chip you get is compatible with the laptop.
