Good Morning

I need some advice please. Loaded AutoCAD Civil 3D on my HP Elitebook but it appears to suffer badly.

I have Core i5 with 4GB RAM. RAM: PC3-12800 1600Mhz DDR3 SDRAM SO DIMM 204 Pin

Will adding another 4GB RAM make it better? (There is a spare slot)

Can I add a 8GB together with the existing 4GB?

Are all DDR3 chips the same? If I look at the pics some have the slot more to the left and others more to the right if you look at it from the IC side. Also some have 4 ICs and others have 8.

It is my personal laptop and I will be using it for training on AutoCAD so I do not want to spend money on another laptop if I don't have to.

Advice will be appreciated.

Is your OS 64 or 32bit? Need 64bit to see more than 4Gb of RAM. If so, extra RAM should help a lot, trust me (Struggling on a 4GB laptop with SQL installed at work...compared to a similar install on a 8GB laptop...buttery). On RAM chips itself...I'm no expert. Make sure the RAM is compatible before buying it, someone on here made the mistake recently iirc.
