Hi i am currently in the market for a laptop. My choice at the moment is the Lenovo Y580: http://www.laptopdirect.co.za/laptop_specifications.php?laptop=61922#

I have looked at alternatives such as the Dell Inspiron 15R SE and Asus N56vz, but they cost 2-3k more.

This Y580 is absolutely perfect. It has an awesome CPU(i7-3610QM 2.3GHZ) and even better GPU(GTX 660m) than both the Dell and Asus for less than 10k. But unfortunately it only has an HD(1366x768) screen. And a Full HD screen is a must for me( I am very picky about hardware :) )
The version of the Y580 with a Full HD screen and blue ray player(not that i care, but comes with) is not available in South Africa, and if you want to import it,it will cost you almost 17k.

Now I have an idea, would it be possible to replace the lenovo's screen with a full HD screen. How much would this cost and would you void the warranty if you would replace it?

Any help will be appreciated
