Hi Guys,

I have a friend looking to buy a new laptop. The only big requirement they have is that they need to be able to run their trading programs on it sufficiently. I am a bit of a newbie regarding sharetrading so I dont know what programs are there and what their computing requirements are. They have about R10000 to spend, less if they can.

Can anyone recommend laptop specs for me? So I know what to look for.

lots of thanks
:)

trading platforms do not use much recourses on a computer,I use a 2year old entry level laptop with a additional lcd for my trading and it works fine,I reckon anything in the region of 6-7K should do,an additional screen, nothing fancy 22-24inch is a must, trading just form a laptop screen can get very tiring

Buy a Dell, purely for the warranty & long service plan.
based on personal experience I am not fond of Dell, I'd rather got with Lenovo. But will see what my friend decides on.

tx lots, this sounds great actually. I'll put some suggestions together and give it to my friend.
