I'm an admitted COMPLETE n00b when it comes to Laptops.

Is the following any good:
Dell Vostro 3750:
i7-2630QM (2.0GHz)),6144MB (1x4096 + 1x2048) 1333MHz DDR3, 750GB Serial ATA (7,200 Rpm), 8X DVD+/-RW, 6-cell battery, Nvidia Geforce N12P-GE (128-bit) 1GB Graphics, Bluetooth, 802.11n, Fingerprint Reader, 2MP webcam, 17.3in Widescreen High Definition+ (1600X900) WLED Anti-Glare, Windows 7 Professional (64 BIT)
3 Year warranty

At that price. Hardware wise it looks fairly solid (Sandy Bridge)

Other brands I should consider. This is for someone else, I hate laptops hence the lack of knowledge...

The screen resolution is not full HD, not that it is a problem, but you may want to check if you can find something in that price range with it. Other than that it looks solid.
