So we are donating two laptops to a school in Malawi to teach the girls there that have no form of education. They need 10 laptops so we have said we will donate two. I have been looking and have found these two - I am pretty sure they will do the job just fine (basic word etc).

Which is the better one:

ASUS

Lenovo

As mentioned, they will only be used for basic PC work and word documents.

If you know of a better deal also please let me know.

Thanks.

Why not donate 5 raspberry PIs' instead?

They do not have proper class rooms where they can have dedicated "PC's" setup all the time and need to be able to move them around to different areas so everyone can use them.

We will then need to buy monitors, keyboard and mouse etc. Laptops make way more sense for this situation.

Is that price only for today?

going on special tonight at that price , with the extra you were going to spend elsewhere you can buy some nice notebooks bags which are also going on special tonight :D

EDIT I just saw now that you said there were going to Malawi , it gets really hot there in summer so get some notebook cooling pads as well ( also going on special tonight)

Go read up on Bing edition windows and how the drives are partitioned...

Long story short, if the machine doesnt have a ssd or eMMC drive, dont bother as it will be horribly slow to use it with a mechanical drive.
