We need a few laptops for the business. Owing to cashflow constraints Im hesitant to outlay a couple dozen grand on outright purchases.

So Im thinking of getting a few on contract with the likes of MTN / Vodacom etc. They offer warranties during the period. And some of the specs aren't horrible. They are required for admin staff. So i5 or i7 would work great.

Is this a horrible idea? If not who has the best deals on said specs?

Not a bad option IMO. Check with your accountant about how they are reflected in the books. It may be better for tax in the immediate period.

Have you ever tried to get warranty support from a mobile provider? Not ideal to rent from them

There are loads of other IT rental options.
