My Laptop screen shows now 6 small screens. It began with the mouse freezing, the screen shuddering slightly and then BSoD. It would restart ok for a short time but now it has the 6 small screens.

I took it to a repair place. They said they couldn't replicate the problem and all was fine. I brought it home and it was still the same... six bloody small screens.

Does anyone know the problem or where I can get it repaired.

Thanks.

Not quite sure what you're getting at? There are six divisions of your screen appearing on your laptop's LCD?

My acer has something like this gridvista(?), allows you to have six windows open at once.

However if all six are showing the same thing you probably have a problem, have you tried reinstalling the graphics driver?

Thanks for the replies. The replication starts from the moment the machine is turned on, so even the bios boot screen is shown 6 times.

Yeah, it doesn't actually sound like it the lcd, could be your graphics card dying on you

I also think that. Sadly I bought it in Europe.. it's Medion, an awesome machine for the price, well was an awe...... Can anyone recommend someone that fixes laptops in CT at a reasonable price. Home biz type of thing?

NVIDIA

My Dell did the same last year.
If this laptop has a Nvidia graphics chipset then that is your problem. There was a recall on these a year or 2 ago. There as a big problem with overheating. One solution on the net was to clean off the silver compound between the GPU and heat sink. Replase that and to make sure that the contact between the GPU and heatsink is good. download speedfan and see what the GPU temp is.

If the screen stays the same then it is possible that the GPU got damaged from the heat.
