Laptops trends for 2010

Wrong:
and Android, Google's open source operating system, is being widely touted as a competitor in the laptop OS market.

Guess you wanted to say:
and Chrome OS, Google's open source operating system, is being widely touted as a competitor in the laptop OS market.

Android is only for mobile devices (smartphones), not notebooks.

One word for Netbooks, ARM!

Would have to seriously disagree with you.

I use my Netbook exclusively in front of the tv for browsing or downloading something quickly, sending it wireless to any of the other 4 pc's on my network, or checking my emails or even fixing a pc in Sudan on a Sunday afternoon while watching cricket.

I just love my Netbook and although a laptop can do all those things, it is big and bulky and I do not enjoy using a laptop in the above mentioned situation. I've tried it and did not enjoy the bulkier laptops in the TV room scenario.

It is really a case of horses for courses I think.

As for arm...
Yes I probably am arm... it is not gr8, but hey nothing wrong with it either.
