Lara Kantor is the Group Executive: Regulatory at e.tv.
Lara Kantor graduated with a first class pass in Drama and Film (Hons) at the University of the Witwatersrand and since then has worked in various senior positions in the South African broadcasting industry. She headed up broadcasting policy at the Independent Broadcasting Authority. She subsequently served as Executive Director of the National Association of Broadcasters until 2002.
She was General Manager of Digital Policy at the SABC, the country’s national public broadcaster until May 2009. She was appointed one of the co-chairs of the Digital Broadcasting Migration Working Group and was subsequently appointed by the Minister of Communications as the founding chair of an advisory body to the Minister on digital migration, known as the Digital Dzonga Advisory Council, a position she held until March 2010.
Lara is currently based at e.tv where she holds the position Group Executive: Regulatory Strategy.
