Thought I'd throw my 2 cents in here (iBurst forum). I am on my last two weeks with iBurst. I have been a m2m subscriber for almost 2.5 years.

I scratched where the itch was not that bad. I went to MTN. I think it is worth mentioning to all the dudes & dudettes thinking of going across, think twice. I am locked into a 24 month contract with a SP that cannot even give me a fraction of the speed iBurst has to offer. Forget the ads and marketing campaigns, stick to what you have. At least iBurst does have a functional technical department that has helped me in the past (for no charge I might add) and although they could not fix the random disconnecting problem I had (and ironically now has dissappeared) at least they came and tried to help. Much much more than I can say for MTN. I have posted on hellopeter, wrote to MTN, called them, heck I'm even ready to knock on their doors. No avail.

Lesson learnt - Better the devil you know than the one you don't...;)

rudirautenbach, can't you pull the "I'm immigrating stunt" with MTN?

More often than not, they usually let you off the contract. You might have to pay a small penalty, but in the long run it might be worth it

Will have to consider it. I am in the process of talking to the CEO's office regarding the poor service delivery. Apparently they will consider cancellation if the coverage people confirm a poor subscription.

huh? I don't get it? you had iburst but you not happy with MTN?

your title is rather misleading, maybe get a mod/admin to change it :)

as for iburst I must say at least they trying to listen to some things that are posted, here & on their blog...

I've experienced MTN and Vodacom's broadband offerings first-hand and I must say that iBurst is better than both. Better speeds and better support (just) give them the edge.

Been with iBurst, finishing off agreement end of the month. Went to MTN middle of March. Worst business decision I ever made.

Yep, I'm using MTN HSPDA with my E220 modem at work, but would never swop it with iBurst - iBurst is much faster. Tested MTN at home, but 3G reception is not very good.
