Hi all

I would like to know if i buy from Amazon..

What would the fees be to get my product here,it does say Amazon ships internationally ..but at what cost!

cause looking at their prices compared to ours!insane..you can get a better motherboard in the place of our R1200 Mboards, like Asrock extreme4 ..

If anyone knows these fees pls let me know!

Thanks

They won't ship to SA. And people that used a forwarding service ran into issues with because the invoice doesnt represent the person shipping the goods. You pay vat on 110% of total value incl shipping, whatever customs duty is due, and the clearance fee. Lots of electronics is also subject to a letter of authority from the SABS.

You can always import from Performance-Pc and FrozenCPU ...

They both ship to SA and I know people that have ordered from them without issues ...

You will pay anywhere from 15-30% of the items value in vat (will depend on how SARS calculated the VAT) and will pay under R100 for customs clearance

Don't quote me on these figures but that is just from what I have seen

yes, sorry to burst your bubble. Your best bet is to get soemone from US to order and ship it as a gift, thereby removing the tax thing.

hmmm sounds stupid that if you buy it yourself you pay big time..but if you know someone it cuts all those costs?

I actually do know someone in the US. :)

Sadly, more bubble bursting... You may only receive 2 'gifts' per year, with a maximum value of ZAR400 each. You may not add them together, and if you are asked to pay duty on it you will pay on the full value.
