Hi guys/girls
I know there are a couple of threads on this topic but I can't seem to find an answer to my question.
I am willing to pay for a proper law firm to draw up my Last Will and Testament (Obviously)
What I am not willing to do is for them to act as Executor, some with rates touching almost 10% of the estate in total and most around 3.5% which will probably end up being closer to 5%
I had a quick discussion with a representative at a law firm that said I can choose my own executor (which I know), but if the estate is bigger than R250k then the chosen Executor must be on the Master's panel. If they are not the Master will refer the executor to an attorney.
So now he suggests I rather go directly with an attorney.
So here my question...
Let's say I appoint my mother as executor, what costs would be involved if/when the Master refers her to an attorney?
