Late renewing licence...penalty?

So I just checked my card and the licence expired in November. So how much penalty am I in for to renew it?
Any tips where to go in Cape Town so I don't have to stand in line all week long?

So the post office now offers eye testing
What do you need to renew a drivers license

There was no penalty for late renewal last time I did it, you just have to get a temporary licence which costs a couple of bucks.

Mine expired in October.

I decided to chance it and not get a temporary license in Dec as when I went to renew it they said 6 weeks. Haven't fetch it yet so I am careful not to speed.
