Latency issue to UK

Hi guys, I was wondering if any of you could test this for me. I used to get around 185-195ms ping to Maidenhead's Xilo server in the UK on pingtest.net. Since a week ago this latency has dropped to around 400ms! All my other local and international pings are the same as they were, but I do online gaming and this seems to affect it since the best servers USED to be UK based for my game, also Skype to UK. Suddenly its gone horrible latency wise.

Surely there's something wrong here, ISP routing has changed perhaps? Like I said, local and US pings are the same, even to EU. It is just to the UK that I have this problem. Issues with SAT3 cable maybe?

Can any of you guys with 8ta do a pingtest to UK server on pingtest.net and let me know if this is affecting everyone and not just me? Much appreciated!

No one want to test their ping to UK? Maybe the 8ta rep can enlighten me as to whats going on with your connection to the UK? This is a pretty poor performance drop by all accounts.

I used to get roughly about 220ms - 240ms to the UK servers. The above result and yours certainly seems to indicate some thing wrong with their link to the UK.

Thanks for testing NSB. I only noticed now: If you look on the 2 pingtest results graphics, there is a 50mi difference in distance it took to get to the server. Looks like traffic is being rerouted and there is congestion at that point.

I hope someone from 8ta will make an effort to explain why this is and if it's only temporary? Been like this for over a week now.
